International Non-Profits

I currently work for an international non-profit developing online communications strategy. I have helped to more than double our online supporter base (to over 285,000), increased online fundraising, and developed our presence on MySpace, Flickr and YouTube. MySpace alone has reached over 23,000 “friends” and is a top-five referrer to our website. We were recently voted one of the smartest organizations on the web today due mainly to our social networking work and online campaigns that I help to manage.

Political Campaigns

Recently, I worked for Katherine Waddell, an Independent running for the House of Delegates in Virginia. She was one of the only Independents in the entire country to unseat an incumbent. I served as a consultant and launched the campaign website, developed much of the content, and reached out to bloggers to cover her campaign. In a race where money was tight, I was able to gain her free exposure by developing her website, reaching out to local bloggers, and posting her campaign advertisement on the site (and alerting bloggers), which was viewed over 700 times (when you win by 44 votes, that’s a lot of views!).

“Tim was instrumental in taking my campaign to the next level online. In 2005, when most campaigns were struggling to figure out how best to use the web, Tim jumped right in and let his instincts guide the way. His advice on developing my website and which stories to pitch to Virginia bloggers was critical in my win.” - Delegate Katherine Waddell (I-VA)

Trade Associations

In my previous life, I worked in Washington, DC working for an advanced transportation trade association. I developed much of the online content of the site, and project managed a complete redesign.

As you can see, I have extensive experience creating effective online communications for different types of organizations. Please contact me today about what I can do to strengthen your online presence!
